Narrative:
The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is in compliance with Principle 2.7.1 because it offers degree programs based on at least 120 semester credit hours at the baccalaureate level and at least 30 hours at the post-baccalaureate and graduate levels. The University does not offer an associate's degree. As of Spring Semester 2005, UAH offered 29 baccalaureate, 18 master's, and 12 doctoral degree programs. All programs meet, or exceed, the minimum semester hours specified in the criterion.

The undergraduate academic programs of the University are administered by five colleges: the College of Administrative Science, the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Engineering, the College of Nursing, and the College of Science. While the number of hours required for specific degrees varies, each degree requires a minimum of 120 semester hours of credit and a GPA of 2.0 or above for completion. The complete list of the approved major programs and degrees offered are found in the UAH Undergraduate Catalog 2003-2005, pp. 66-68. UAH offers post-baccalaureate degrees at the master's and doctorate levels. A complete list of degrees offered is provided in the UAH Graduate Catalog 2003-2005, pp. 37-43.

A master's degree at UAH requires a minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate work for the thesis option (24 semester hours of graduate coursework and 6 hours of thesis credit), or a minimum of 33 semester hours of graduate coursework for the non-thesis option.(UAH Graduate Catalog 2003-2005, pp. 51-52).

The doctoral degree at UAH requires a minimum of 48 semester hours of graduate coursework (excluding dissertation research) and 18 semester hours of dissertation research (UAH Graduate Catalog 2003-2005, p. 53).

UAH offers no programs that would require program equivalency rationale.
