Narrative:
The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is in compliance with Principle 3.6.3 because the UAH Graduate Catalog 2003-2005 includes sections with policies on (a) Master's Degree Transfer Credit (p. 52), and (b) Doctor of Philosophy Transfer Credit (p. 54). These policies require that the majority of the graduate coursework earned for an advanced degree must be taken at the institution granting the degree. During the review of policies and publications for the preparation of the UAH Graduate Catalog 2005-2007, it was noted that part of the relevant descriptions for transfer credit in the UAH Graduate Catalog 2003-2005 was out of date and could be contrary to the requirements of Standard 3.6.3. Both of these have been corrected in the UAH Graduate Catalog 2005-2007. Specifically, the following changes were made: (1) as noted previously in Standard 3.4.4 of this report the statement on Master's Degree Transfer Credit (p. 52) indicating that students must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours at UAH for a Master's Degree has been deleted; and (2) the section on Doctor of Philosophy Transfer Credit (p. 54) reading "At least half of the credit hours (including dissertation credits) toward a doctoral degree must have been earned at UAH..." has been changed to read "A majority of the credit hours (including dissertation credits) toward a doctoral degree must have been earned at UAH..."
