Narrative:
The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is in compliance with Principle 3.4.3 because undergraduate and graduate admission requirements are clearly outlined in the UAH Undergraduate Catalog 2003-2005 and the UAH Graduate Catalog 2003-2005, and because the admissions policies are consistent with the UAH mission of "...maintaining a diverse academic community of the highest quality..." The Graduate Council establishes standards for graduate admissions. The Undergraduate Admissions and Scholastic Affairs Committee recommend undergraduate admission requirements. Conditional admission guidelines exist to allow for admission of those students who do not meet the minimum requirements but exhibit other indicators of likely success. The success of UAH's admissions policies in achieving a diverse student body of high quality can be seen in the diversity of the undergraduate student population (20 percent minority) and the fact that UAH entering freshmen have, for a number of years, had the highest average ACT score of any public institution in Alabama.
