[Compliance]
Narrative:
The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is in compliance with Principle 3.2.12 because the duties of the President include "fund-raising" (Board of Trustees of the University of Alabama Board Manual Bylaws, Article V, Section 3). The Vice President for Advancement is delegated, by the President, the responsibility for all external fund raising activities of the University including, but not limited to, alumni, students, faculty, staff, friends, corporations, and foundations. The Vice President in turn delegates the responsibility for development of fund raising activities to the Alumni Director, the Development Director, and the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations in their area of assignment (UAH Organizational Chart).
The Vice President meets regularly with the President and reports on the efforts of the Directors. During these meetings, the Vice President obtains the President's approval for all initiatives for fund raising. The President, along with the Vice President, approves all appeals and the objective of all appeals for fund raising prior to their initiation.
